In her live discussion she answered my questions, and a few of the readers questions so we could get to know her and her work a little better. Scroll down and see what she had to say. 1.Are you a full-time or part-time author? How does that affect your writing?
I was previously just part-time but due to covid I'm full time. We'll see how this works out.
2. What kind(s) of writing do you do?
I mainly write Urban Romance. I wanted to try my hand in paranormal but I'm still thinking about it.
3. What’s the biggest thing that people think they know about your genre that isn’t so?
I think that it's predictable. I like changing things up so when people expect one thing to happen, I completely change it.
4. Is there anything about the writing life you think is misunderstood by the public?
That it's easy because it's not. Far from it actually. There's a lot that goes into writing and it's stressful so when we get people to tell us our work is trash or whatever that's disheartening.
5. How many books have you written?
So far 17, but I'm currently working on 18, 19 and 20
6. If someone is brand new to your work, what book do you think they should start with?
I would go ahead and say After the Storm that one is straight romance, it was my first book also and it was before I started getting rachet. Lol
7. What’s the title of your most recent book?
My most recent book is Triggered: His Love Was My Sanctuary it's a three part completed series.
8. How did you come up with the title of the book?
To be honest Triggered by Jhene is one of my favorite songs and I thought it would be fitting for the book.
9. What’s the back of the book summary?
When love goes left, Haelo Christensen packs her bags and leaves Dallas to head right back home to Atlanta. Now surrounding herself with family & friends, she decides to live her best life and rejects even the idea of ever falling in love again. However, feelings for an old best friend begins to surface leaving Haelo second guessing her future.
Haelo has been in love with Legend Giovanni since the age of 14 and everybody knows it, but him. Legend is dealing with issues of being in a loveless relationship with his girlfriend Vanessa. Ironically, he knows that she’s not the one, but he has no intentions of starting over. However, when Haelo returns to town he is soon reminded of what’s missing in his life. When an opportunity knocks, he immediately opens the door to a new relationship with Haelo. They jump in headfirst, but unresolved feelings are present from their past that could lead to disastrous consequences.
Heaven Christensen is an aspiring singer/songwriter whose dream is to make it big in the music industry. When she finds out she's pregnant by her long-term boyfriend Lorenzo, she suddenly starts to realize that she’s tired of him cheating & wants out. Lorenzo is sure about Heaven but never wanted to be a father, posing a threat to their already fragile relationship.
Will Haelo and Legend finally get their happily ever after? Will the complications of Heaven and Lorenzo's past taint their future? Or will both couple's underlying triggers cause them to crash and burn?
10. Tell us about the main characters.
Haelo and Heaven are twin sisters who are dealing with Legend and Lorenzo Giovanni and their feelings for them. Haelo is complicated because so much bad stuff has happened to her she thinks she's cursed. Heaven is a free spirit and seems to be looking for love in all the wrong places, Lorenzo is a hot mess because he's sort of an asshole but you can't stop loving him and Legend is so laid back and he's trying to be a good guy but there's so much preventing that from happening.
