I loved this book so much. But omg Vashti... I was sick of her, and I wanted somebody to put Deja back in a child's place. They were too big on 'gentle parenting' with her for me. She needed to be reminded that she wasn't the adult. I appreciated when Josiah finally stood up and told her they didn't have to explain a damn thing to her. Took him long enough tho. After all, this book is def in my top 5 of the year. It gave everything it was supposed to. I was anxious cuz I never read anything by this author before, but she has a fan for life now. I'm so impressed and can't wait to see what else she has

I appreciated Yaamen's friend. It is beautiful to have a tribe that is true
I’m at 67%… the magic is happening 🤗
I love Carole Miller
Men are so emotionally retarded. Josiah on my nerves too.
Why does Vashti think it's okay to be up in Yasmen house with the kids like that was her home?
Why is that child, thirteen year old able to curse AND disrespect her momma like she doesn't deserve a backhand slap?
I loathe Deja and hate Vashti 😒
